City Council Appoints Board and Commission Members, Starts Bond Process
At its December 17, 2018, meeting Windcrest City Council approved Resolution 2018-678(R) authorizing City Staff and Professional Advisors to prepare and distribute all documents and take all actions deemed necessary to prepare for the issuance of general obligation bonds approved by the voters at the November 6, 2018, bond election.

Other actions taken at the December 17, 2018, meeting include the following:
​
Approved Resolution 2018-680(R) adopting rules of conduct and decorum for public meetings.
Approved Resolution 2018-681(R) for the purchase of a medical device to assist first responders in performing chest compressions during cardiopulmonary resuscitation efforts.
Appointed CCM Frank Archuleta and CCM Cindy Strzelecki to the Windcrest Investment Committee.

Special City Council Meeting December 3, 2018
Windcrest City Council will conduct a special meeting December 3, 2018, at 6:00 p.m.
New Windcrest City Council Members Seated
On November 19, 2018, Windcrest City Council members Sherillyn Flick (Place One), Cindy Strzelecki (Place Two), and Gregory Turner (Place Three) were sworn into office, took their places on the dais and got to work for our City.
Windcrest Volunteer Fire Association Bylaws Approved
City Council approved the Windcrest Volunteer Fire Department Association Bylaws at its November 19, 2018, meeting.
City-Volunteer Fire Association Agreement Approved
City Council approved the formal agreement between the City of Windcrest and the Windcrest Volunteer Fire Association.
Economic Development Corporation Board Removed
City Council voted to replace the Board of the Windcrest Economic Board in its entirety and is seeking applications from citizens interested in serving on our WEDC Board. To apply for WEDC and other positions visit the City web site or click here.
City Council to Meet Twice Monthly
City Council will start meeting twice a month again. Additional meeting dates and times will be published as they are announced.
Joan Pedrotti Appointed Mayor Pro Tem
By unanimous vote, City Council Member Joan Pedrotti was appointed Windcrest Mayor Pro Tem. Congratulations, Ms. Pedrotti.
Speed Limits
Windcrest is considering adjusting our speed limits to a uniform speed of either 20 m.p.h. or 25 m.p.h. City Council approved moving forward with a traffic study to determine the optimal speed limit for our city.
Fiesta Especial Permit Approved
Fiesta Especial will continue to be a Windcrest Fiesta Event tradition, as its parade permit has been approved for its Fiesta Especial 2019 Parade on April 20, 2019.

Pancho Claus Honored with Proclamation
Mayor Dan Reese presented a Proclamation to Pancho Claus recognizing his volunteer work during the holiday season.
​
Pancho Claus, who is Santa Claus' cousin, will be working hard this holiday season to prepare gifts to be distributed at the Play-Mor Bingo Hall, 919 Pleasanton Road on Saturday, December 15, 2018 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
​
Volunteers are needed to help wrap gifts on December 14, distribute gifts on December 15 and clean up after distribution. For more information please contact City Council Member Frank Archuleta.
